영어 발음과 기호

*After a storm comes a calm.

영어 발음 기호는 모음과 자음 2종류가 있다.
모음-음이 입안의 어느 부분에서도 방해를
받지 않고, 자유롭게 나오는 음.
그렇지 않은 것을 자음이라고 한다.

우리말에 없는 음 들이 많다.
예전에 학창시절에는 쉽게 외웠던 것 같은데
이렇게 많은지 몰랐다.

이번 단원에서는 발음 기호만 적혀 있고,
그걸 다시 영어로 다시 쓰는건데 정말 어려웠다.

우리가 아는 '양치기 소년'을 영어 발음 기호로만
되어 있는 문장을 영어로 공책에다가 곰곰히
생각을 하면서 신중하게 적어 내려갔다.
발음 기호를 처음으로 제대로 본 적이 없었나
싶을 정도로 어렵게 느껴졌다.

가장 확실하고 빠른 공부 방법이다.

There was once a boy who was very fond of
telling a lie. One day he went into the woods
and cried "a wolf! a wolf is coming!"
Some farmers were working on the farm near
the woods. They heard the boy's cry.
They ran i into the woods to help the boy.
But the boy began to ran away when he saw
them. He said to them.
"It's a lie!" and laughed. The farmers got angry.
and went back to their work.
The next day the boy went into the woods
again. He wanted to do the same thing.
but a wolf really appeared this time.
He cried again and again.
but no one came to help him.
The farmers working near the woods thought
that the boy was telling a lie again.
and the boy was killed by the wolf.
